Thanks for your interest in Puresound Wires for your Slingerland Zoomatic Strainer. The Zoomatic strainer was used by Slingerland from the 1960's to the 1990's. It has been one of their most popular snare strainer systems. Multiple versions of this strainer do exist and all of them will work with the PR-1420's. In some cases a strap can also be used to attach the snare wires to the drum. We however recommend our snare wire. Our wire stays tight and it is up to you if you want to tie it or not.
