Item #PD-1416

Thanks for your interest in Puresound Wires for your Rogers Dynasonic Snare Drum. The Dynasonic has a long history in the vintage drum market and some of the very early model drums require different wires then our #PD-1416. Please call if you have any questions about these rare models.

Installation:

Remove the Snare Frame from the snare drum. The Snare Side has the Tension Screw Assembly with Retainer Housing and the butt side does not. Remove the two screws holding the old snare wires. Place the Puresound Wires upside down on the snare frame. You will notice that the screws that hold the snares in screw into what is called the Slotted Adjustment Screws on the Frame. These are factory set, but they may need some adjustment. Refer to the pictures below for a visual of how the snare wires sit on the frame.

Butt Side
Notice that the Puresound Wires sit directly on top of the Frame so that they are parallel with each other. The Slotted Adjustment Screw is tightened or loosened from the other side of the frame. It may be necessary to temporarily remove the clear silicone caulk. The most important thing is that the wires should not bow out.

Here is what the snare side will look like.
Notice that the Puresound Wires sit directly on top of the Frame so that they are parallel with each other. The strainer side has the Tension Screw. Do not use a screw driver to tension the wires. The Tension Screw should be done with hand pressure.

Once the snares are set you can then proceed to adjust the Tension Screw Assembly by hand. Even though it is slotted, it is recommended you do not use a screw driver. The tension you are looking for is similar to strumming a guitar. You can strum the wires to test them for proper tension. Now it is time to attach the Snare Frame to the drum. Place the Frame on the head and center it.

Refer to the pictures below for the strainer and butt side to see how the snare cord is used on the Snare Frame.

You will notice a second set of holes on the Snare Frame. These holes are not used for this application. For a very short period of time the second set of holes were used for a rubber strap that was reported to keep the Snare Frame from hitting the bottom head under heavy use. You will rarely see this set up on a Dynasonic since it was used for such a short period of time.
